When Are Our Classic Sales?
Our Classic Car Sales take place on Saturdays through out the year (exact dates TBC) allowing customers both Trade and private alike to attend in a more relaxed weekend environment.
We have Parking for 200 customer cars (opposite our main site and clearly sign posted) in our purpose built, easy access, Car park.
Whats the Process When I Arrive?
Our doors open for viewing at 9.00am, entry is by catalogue with a cost of £10.00 which admits two people, allowing three hours for viewing before the sale starts at 12.00pm.
Upon arrival, if you wish to bid, you will need to proceed to our enquiries window located in the Main Hall to complete a bidder registration form (proof of address required) and pay a deposit, our staff are polite as well as helpful and once completed will provide you with your unique ‘bidders number.’ Our auctioneers can also be found circulating the site, chatting with customers and will be very happy to offer any advice that may be of assistance.
N.B Please ensure you familiarise your self with our Terms of Business, copies available on request, prior to bidding.
On Line Bidding
Our On Line bidding facility, known as ‘Live Bid’ is available for anyone to use (subject to conditions) You will need to compete our On Line registration form and submit your deposit of £1000 via the Barclaycard payment gateway on our web site. Live Bid will only be available on the Saturday of the Classic sale, after which the functionality will automatically stop.
How do I View the Cars?
The vehicles will be displayed both to the rear of our auction centre as well as at the front (subject to the size of the sales) and we would encourage all prospective purchasers to satisfy themselves as to the condition of any given vehicle, prior to bidding, as mistakes cannot be rectified later.
Once you are familiar with the over all condition of the vehicle we would recommend that you come to our payments area (located at the front of the hall to the right of the rostrum) where you will be able to request to see all supporting paperwork for vehicles including registration documents, MOTs, service histories etc.
How do I Bid?
All the cars (excluding non runners!) will be driven into the hall by our drivers and will stop in the centre of the ‘red road’ marked on the floor of the hall, it is at this point that the auctioneer will commence the bidding on the car.
For hall bidders all you need to do is raise your unique ‘bidders number’ so the auctioneer can see it and your bid will be taken.
If you are unable to attend the sale you may be eligible (subject to completion of the relevant forms and placing of deposits by 17.00 on the Friday before the sale) to either bid by telephone, Proxy or via Live Bid our on line facility.
We appreciate that customers need to be as well informed as possible with regard to potential purchases therefore we are more than happy to provide a walk around description of the cars for you by telephone (these descriptions are not binding and merely express an opinion of the vehicle condition only) – no later than 13.00 on the Friday before the sale.
What Happens Upon the ‘Fall of the Hammer’?
If you have the final bid, the vehicle will be put down to you as either ‘Sold’ or ‘Provisional’
Sold vehicles mean just that, you have purchased it – congratulations! From here you now have 3 working days to pay for the vehicle in full and remove it from our premises.
Provisional – this means that the vehicle has not reached the reserve figure as required by the Vendor, so we will negotiate between you and the seller in order to try and secure the purchase for you (note these negotiations can only take place if the seller is available on the day failing that, we will make any calls as soon as we can)
We accept both Debit and Credit Cards – No fees.
Bacs transfer – No Fees, although monies will not clear into our account until the Monday after the sale.
Cash – 1% fee applies ( Max £9000 on any one day per customer)
All vehicles are sold subject to a 6% +VAT Buyers Premium (min £100 + VAT)
Cash transactions =- additional 1% + VAT.
We require a deposit of £1000 per vehicle, at the point of registration (refundable if unsuccessful)
